Croquet mallets and balls in Naracoorte
The short answer: Naracoorte players can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls online and have them delivered in the upper Limestone Coast. For a club that plays four codes and pennant across the South East, the Invictus Rise is the mallet we suggest first.
Croquet in Naracoorte
Naracoorte Croquet Club is a small but enthusiastic section of the Naracoorte Bowls Club. Members play socially on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, take on other South East clubs such as Millicent and Penola in pennant, and travel to tournaments in other parts of the country. The club plays golf croquet, Aussie croquet, ricochet and association croquet, so a game can last anything from about 45 minutes to two and a half hours. It runs come-and-try events to bring in new players, and in 2023 it earmarked a $500 donation from the local paper's Give Back program for its lawns and facilities.
What Naracoorte's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
Naracoorte, best known for its World Heritage-listed caves, sits in the farming country north of Mount Gambier. Its climate is Mediterranean in pattern: warm, dry summers and cool, wetter winters. Summer lawns firm up and reward a delicate touch around the hoops; from late autumn the grass holds water and slows, and the ball needs a fuller stroke.
Which Invictus mallet suits Naracoorte players
Invictus Rise, A$990. More players pick this one than any other Invictus. Roughly 3 lb sits in the aluminium head, and the sweet spot is slightly larger, so keeping the ball on line is a little easier, whether it is Aussie croquet on a Wednesday or pennant away from home. We usually suggest the 11 inch head.
RF Pro, A$1,980. Built with input from World Champion Robert Fletcher, this is the top Invictus. Its head is 3D printed from aluminium, with brass weighting and composite faces, and the whole mallet comes to roughly 2 lb 12 oz. Lighter and very precise, it is meant for association players and anyone who travels to tournaments.
We make yours only once it is ordered, sized to your handle length and finished with an 11 or a 12 inch head. Graphite Black is included in the price; a Rose Gold, Deep Purple, NRA Blue or Snow White finish is A$130.90 on top. The mallet comparison and fitting guide will help.
Balls for Naracoorte clubs
Every Invictus X ball is 450 g, made entirely in Australia and approved by the World Croquet Federation for championship use. Sets sell for A$990, and a club normally wants one in first colours and one in second colours for each lawn. If you are weighing up club balls, read what WCF approval means.
Delivery to Naracoorte
Allow roughly 4 to 8 weeks between ordering and delivery to Naracoorte; that is our estimate for a made-to-order mallet, not a fixed date. Ball sets are priced per club, delivery included, once we know your lawn count.
Questions Naracoorte players ask
Can one mallet cover golf, Aussie, ricochet and association? Yes. Both Invictus models suit all four.
What if I'm not happy with it? For A$99 you can add our optional satisfaction guarantee, which gives you 30 days of club games to decide.
Does a wet winter harm the head? No. Damp lawns do not bother aluminium; give it a wipe when you finish and read our care notes.
