Croquet mallets and balls in Cairo

The short answer: Cairo players can order an Invictus mallet, made to their handle length, or Invictus X championship balls, and we deliver them to Egypt from Australia. For quick, firm golf croquet lawns many strong players will want the precise RF Pro, while the Invictus Rise gives a little more forgiveness.

Croquet in Cairo

Egypt is one of the great golf croquet nations, and Cairo's clubs are at the heart of it. The game is organised by the Egyptian Croquet Federation, and its league and cup fixtures in 2025 brought together Cairo clubs such as Gezira, Heliopolis, Zamalek, Maady and the Shooting Club. Egyptian players have won the world golf croquet title, and when Newsweek covered a world championship in Cairo in 2000 it described Egyptians as already the leading players of the game.

That championship was played at the Gezira Sporting Club, on Gezira Island in the Nile, a club founded in the 1880s as the Khedivial Sporting Club. Gezira also hosts the Egyptian Open golf croquet championships. A visiting player's report of one Open describes matches starting at 4:30 in the afternoon under floodlights and often running past midnight, with temperatures around 31°C in early October.

What Cairo's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Cairo is hot and dry, with almost no rain, so club lawns live on irrigation and much of the serious play waits for the cooler evening. Watered and well kept, a Cairo lawn can play firm and fast, and the visiting report describes a hard stroke cracking the ground beside a hoop. On a surface like that, accuracy matters more than raw weight. Heat does not affect an aluminium head, which will not dry out and split like timber.

Which Invictus mallet suits Cairo players

RF Pro, US$1,295. Developed with World Champion Robert Fletcher, the flagship has a 3D printed aluminium head with brass weights and composite faces. At about 2 lb 12 oz it is lighter and very precise, which suits fast lawns and competitive golf croquet.

Invictus Rise, US$695. Our most popular mallet. Its aluminium head is about 3 lb with a slightly enlarged sweet spot, so off-centre hits are a little easier to control. We usually recommend the 11 inch head.

Each one is made to order to your handle length, with an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is standard; Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple cost US$119. Read our mallet fitting guide, then use compare mallets to decide.

Balls for Cairo clubs

Invictus X has World Croquet Federation championship approval, weighs 450 g and is made entirely in Australia; a set of four costs US$635. A guide for clubs is one set of first colours and one of second colours per lawn. See what WCF approval means for the standard behind it.

Delivery to Cairo

We begin each mallet when you order and send it from Australia; the usual estimate is 4 to 8 weeks from order, not a guarantee. For ball sets, we confirm the delivered price to Cairo before you pay.

Questions Cairo players ask

Is the RF Pro too light for golf croquet? Not on fast lawns, where its precision counts. If your club's lawns play slower, the 3 lb Rise is the safer pick.

Can I play with it before I commit? Yes, with the free 30-day satisfaction guarantee, you can use it in club games and then decide.

How do I order? Send us the model, head size, handle length and colour; we confirm it all before payment.
