Croquet mallets and balls in Warrnambool

The short answer: Warrnambool players can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls online and receive them on the south-west coast. Because the Cramer Street lawns spend much of the year cool and damp, the 3 lb Invictus Rise is where we would start most players.

Croquet in Warrnambool

The Warrnambool City Croquet Club has three courts in Cramer Street and offers a wide spread of codes: association, golf croquet, ricochet and Fast Five through the week, social play in every code on Sunday mornings and gateball on Sunday afternoons. Its summer association tournament has drawn entries from Melbourne, interstate and the Western District, and the calendar for 2026-27 includes a gateball tournament at the start of November, the association summer tournament in January and a golf croquet tournament in March. Newcomers can borrow equipment, and the first come-and-try session has been free. The game has deep roots here: the local historical society holds a turn-of-the-century mallet stamped with the town's name.

What Warrnambool's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Sitting on the Southern Ocean, Warrnambool rarely gets the scorching days of inland Victoria. Summers are mild and breezy, and winters are cool, grey and wet, so the grass holds moisture and plays slowly for much of the year. On a soft, slow court the ball needs a firm push, and a steady, unhurried swing matters more than raw speed.

Which Invictus mallet suits Warrnambool players

Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular model. The head is aluminium, weighs roughly 3 lb, and its sweet spot is a little larger, so it is slightly easier to control when the wind is up. Most players take the 11 inch head.

RF Pro, A$1,980. Our flagship, created with World Champion Robert Fletcher. It has a 3D printed aluminium head carrying brass weights and composite faces, at about 2 lb 12 oz: lighter and very precise, for players who want the finest touch in the January tournament.

Each mallet is made to order with your handle length and a choice of 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black comes standard; NRA Blue, Snow White, Deep Purple or Rose Gold add A$130.90. The comparison page sets the two models side by side, and the fitting page explains how to measure.

Questions Warrnambool players ask

Is one mallet fine for ricochet, golf and association? Yes. Neither Invictus model is tied to a code.

What if I don't take to it? The optional satisfaction guarantee costs A$99 and gives you 30 days of real club play to decide.

Will sea air or wet grass hurt the head? No. Aluminium copes with damp; wipe it dry after play and follow our care notes.
