Croquet mallets and balls in Terang
The short answer: if you play in Terang, you can buy Invictus mallets and Invictus X balls through our website and have them sent anywhere in the Western District. For cool, often soft dairy-country lawns, we point most players to the Rise first.
Croquet in Terang
Terang Croquet Club has outdoor lawns at 140 High Street, just below the town's tree-lined main street. It describes itself as a friendly group that enjoys the outdoors and a chat in the clubrooms after play. The regular game is golf croquet, on Monday mornings from 9.30am and Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1pm, and its directory listing also names association croquet and gateball, with social play and tournaments through the year. In November 2026 Terang hosts two golf croquet tournaments back to back: level singles on 16 and 17 November, then doubles on 18 and 19 November. Anyone wanting to try the game or visit is asked to contact the club first.
What Terang's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
Terang lies on the volcanic plains of south-west Victoria, some of the state's richest dairy land, and its climate shows it: mild summers, cool, damp winters and plenty of green grass. Lawns here stay soft for much of the year, and the ball needs a firm, even stroke to travel.
Which Invictus mallet suits Terang players
Invictus Rise, A$990. No Invictus is more popular. Its head, aluminium and close to 3 lb, has the heft that soft grass asks for, and because the sweet spot is a little bigger than normal, control comes slightly more easily. Ask for the 11 inch head; that is our usual advice.
RF Pro, A$1,980. Top of our range, and the result of development with World Champion Robert Fletcher. Brass weighting and composite faces go into a head 3D printed from aluminium; on the scales the mallet reads roughly 2 lb 12 oz. Think of it as the lighter, very precise option for level-singles players.
You choose the handle length and whether the head is 11 inches or 12, and we build it after you order. The default colour is Graphite Black; Snow White, NRA Blue, Deep Purple and Rose Gold each cost A$130.90 on top. Our fitting guide and compare mallets page will help you decide.
Balls for Terang clubs
Our Invictus X ball, at 450 g, is made entirely in Australia and carries the World Croquet Federation's approval for championship play. A set is priced at A$990, and the usual guide is a first-colour and a second-colour set for every lawn. See croquet ball colours explained.
Delivery to Terang
From the day you order, count on roughly 4 to 8 weeks before your mallet arrives in Terang; we give that as an estimate, never a promise. Ball sets get a delivered quote once we know how many lawns you have.
Questions Terang players ask
Could I have a mallet for the November tournaments? Probably not for 2026: they are under four weeks away, and delivery is usually 4 to 8 weeks.
Is there a way to test it first? Yes: our optional satisfaction guarantee costs A$99 and gives you 30 days.
Do wet winters damage the head? No; aluminium does not mind the wet. Our care notes cover the rest.
