Croquet mallets and balls on the Sunshine Coast

The short answer: Invictus is based in Queensland, on the Sunshine Coast, and our mallets and Invictus X balls can be delivered to any club from Caloundra to Noosa. For most players on the coast's lush lawns, the Invictus Rise is the best place to start.

Croquet on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast has an active run of clubs: Noosa, Coolum, Headland-Buderim, Nambour, Caloundra and Bribie Island. Between them they play golf croquet, association croquet and ricochet, with regional championships and an interclub pennant competition at several levels. Several clubs hold regular come-and-try mornings for new players.

What the coast's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

The climate is subtropical: warm, humid summers with afternoon storms and mild winters. Grass grows quickly here, and after rain the lawns can play slow and heavy. A mallet with a solid head weight helps on those days, and a stable, forgiving head pays off when the lawn is less than perfectly true.

Which Invictus mallet suits Sunshine Coast players

Invictus Rise, A$990. The head is about 3 lb, which carries the ball through slower, softer grass, and its slightly larger sweet spot makes it a little easier to control. It is our most popular mallet.

RF Pro, A$1,980. Developed with World Champion Robert Fletcher, with a 3D printed aluminium head, brass weights and composite faces, about 2 lb 12 oz. Players who prefer a lighter, very precise feel, especially on the better-prepared tournament lawns, choose the RF Pro.

We make each mallet around the player, so you choose the handle length and an 11 or 12 inch head. The matte black finish is standard, or go for one of the four colours at A$130.90 extra. The fitting guide and the model comparison are the place to start.

Balls for Sunshine Coast clubs

Coastal clubs that play golf croquet, association and ricochet use a lot of balls. Our Invictus X sets, A$990 for four, are World Croquet Federation championship approved. If you are unsure which colours you need, read first, second and third colours explained.

Delivery on the Sunshine Coast

Being local doesn't change the build time: each mallet is made for you, so expect around 4 to 8 weeks from order (an estimate). Ball sets come by courier, and we quote the delivered cost to your club up front.

Questions Sunshine Coast players ask

Does humidity affect the mallet? Both heads are aluminium rather than timber, so they do not swell or split in humid weather. Wipe them down after play on wet lawns; our product care page has more.

Can I play with it before committing? Yes. Take the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee (A$99) and use the mallet in interclub games first.

Do you sell ricochet or garden sets? No. We make championship mallets and balls for association and golf croquet, which serve ricochet players well too.
