Croquet mallets and balls in Sale

The short answer: Sale players can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls online for delivery in Wellington Shire. For a club that plays both golf and association croquet through the year, the Invictus Rise is our first suggestion, and the RF Pro suits those who want the lightest, most exact stroke.

Croquet in Sale

Sale Croquet Club has three full-size courts at 51 Guthridge Parade, in the Stephenson Park sporting precinct just beyond the Botanic Gardens. Golf croquet is played on Thursday and Saturday afternoons and association croquet on Mondays, and the club fields pennant teams in both codes in the Gippsland Croquet Association. Twice a year it opens its lawns to affiliated players from elsewhere, with a golf croquet singles tournament in January and a doubles event in June. Visitors are welcome for a small court fee, and complete beginners can arrange a first game. Sale players travel well, too: in 2025 a Sale pair won its section of the Bairnsdale golf croquet doubles, and in 2026 a Sale member won section two of the association's golf croquet championships at Traralgon.

What Sale's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Sale sits on the open plains of central Gippsland. Summer afternoons are warm and often breezy, and the courts firm up so the ball skips along with little encouragement. Winter brings cold, still mornings and soft, slow grass, when a long roll-up asks for real weight through the stroke.

Which Invictus mallet suits Sale players

Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular mallet. A roughly 3 lb aluminium head keeps the ball moving on heavy winter grass, and its slightly larger sweet spot makes it a little easier to control. We generally advise the 11 inch head with it.

RF Pro, A$1,980. Our flagship, developed with World Champion Robert Fletcher. Brass weights and composite faces sit in a 3D printed aluminium head of about 2 lb 12 oz. Lighter and very precise, it suits association players working on break play.

We build both to order, matched to your handle length, with an 11 or 12 inch head. Standard is Graphite Black; Snow White, NRA Blue, Deep Purple and Rose Gold are A$130.90 more. Our side-by-side comparison helps you pick a model and mallet fitting helps you get the length right.

Balls for Sale clubs

Invictus X is championship approved by the World Croquet Federation, weighs 450 g and is made entirely in Australia; A$990 buys a set. As a guide, three courts call for three sets of first colours and three of second. See how to choose club balls.

Delivery to Sale

Mallets are made one by one after ordering and typically reach Sale 4 to 8 weeks later, as an estimate. Ask us about ball sets and we will price delivery to the club.

Questions Sale players ask

I play golf croquet on Thursdays and association on Mondays. Do I need two mallets? No. One Invictus mallet covers both codes.

What if it doesn't suit me? Choose the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee at A$99 and decide after a month of club play.

Should I go for an 11 or a 12 inch head? Both are available on either model; with the Rise we normally recommend 11 inches.
