Croquet mallets and balls in Lake Macquarie
The short answer: Lake Macquarie players can have an Invictus mallet built to their handle length and sent to Glendale, Toronto or anywhere around the lake, and clubs can order Invictus X balls by the set. On the six big courts at Glendale, our usual suggestion is the Invictus Rise.
Croquet in Lake Macquarie
The Lake Macquarie Croquet Centre at Bill Bower Oval, Glendale, opened in 2024 with six lit courts, the largest croquet venue in New South Wales and built to national competition standard. Toronto Croquet Club, founded in 1992, runs it: more than 70 members playing six days a week across association, golf, ricochet and gateball. The club first asked council for a dedicated centre in 2011, and still keeps its original ground at Ron Hill Oval on Straight Drive in Toronto.
The venue has already drawn big events: the 2025 Australian Gateball Championships, and the NSW Golf Croquet Open Singles in April 2025.
What Lake Macquarie's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
The lake sits between the coast and the Hunter hinterland, so summers are warm and humid with afternoon storms, and winters are mild with heavy morning dew. Competition courts cut short for a championship run quick; a dewy club morning in July runs slow. Real weight in the head copes with both.
Which Invictus mallet suits Lake Macquarie players
Invictus Rise, A$990. The one most of our customers order. Its aluminium head is close to 3 lb, the sweet spot is a touch bigger than the RF Pro's. We usually fit it with the 11 inch head.
RF Pro, A$1,980. The flagship, built with World Champion Robert Fletcher. A 3D printed aluminium head carries brass weights and composite faces and comes in at roughly 2 lb 12 oz, lighter and very exact for fine control on Glendale's quick courts.
Both are made to order: give us your handle length, choose an 11 or 12 inch head, and pick Graphite Black at no extra cost or Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple for A$130.90. Head weight is fixed. The fitting guide and compare mallets help you choose.
Balls for Lake Macquarie clubs
Invictus X sets are A$990, hold World Croquet Federation championship approval, weigh 450 g, and are made entirely in Australia. One set of first colours and one of second per lawn means twelve sets to run all six courts. See choosing croquet balls for a club.
Delivery to Lake Macquarie
Each mallet is built after you order, and the estimate is 4 to 8 weeks before it arrives at Glendale, Toronto or your home. Balls go by courier, and we quote the delivered cost to your club first.
Questions Lake Macquarie players ask
Will a 3 lb head feel heavy on Glendale's fast courts? Most players find it settles the swing. If you mostly play association croquet on quick lawns, the RF Pro is the lighter answer.
Can I return it if it is wrong for me? Yes, if you add the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee (A$99) at checkout.
Which code is it for? Either; one mallet serves golf croquet and association play.
