Croquet mallets and balls in Kingaroy

The short answer: Kingaroy players can order an Invictus mallet cut to their own handle length and delivered into the South Burnett, and the club can buy Invictus X balls a set at a time. On a members-kept lawn in peanut country, the Invictus Rise is the mallet we would suggest first.

Croquet in Kingaroy

The Kingaroy Croquet Club plays at the Kingaroy Bowls Club in Youngman Street. It moved there from Memorial Park in the early 2000s, and later took over care of the lower green, now its croquet lawn. Members look after that surface themselves: in 2013 a small community grant helped the club top-dress the court and buy irrigation equipment.

A 2018 South Burnett report described the club playing golf croquet, an Aussie variant of golf, ricochet and the more formal association game, with golf croquet the usual starting point for newcomers. Tuesday morning is the long-standing session.

What Kingaroy's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Kingaroy sits on the inland plateau of the South Burnett, known for its red soil and its peanut crops. Summers are hot and stormy and winter mornings are cold enough for frost. A members-kept green can play slick in a dry January and heavy after a downpour, so steady head weight and a generous hitting area help.

Which Invictus mallet suits Kingaroy players

Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular model. The aluminium head is close to 3 lb and its sweet spot is a fraction wider, so it is a little easier to control on a damp or frosty lawn. The 11 inch head is the common choice.

RF Pro, A$1,980. Developed with World Champion Robert Fletcher. Its 3D printed aluminium head, brass weights and composite faces weigh about 2 lb 12 oz, giving experienced players a lighter mallet with very fine control.

We build each one to order at your handle length, with an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is standard, and Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple cost A$130.90 extra; weight is set by the model. Start with the fitting guide.

Balls for Kingaroy clubs

A single-lawn club like Kingaroy would normally keep one set of first colours and one of second. Invictus X sets are A$990 each: 450 g balls, approved by the World Croquet Federation for championship play and made entirely in Australia. Croquet ball colours explained sorts out which set is which.

Delivery to Kingaroy

Every mallet is built for its owner, so allow about 4 to 8 weeks from order to arrival in Kingaroy, as an estimate rather than a promise. Balls are sent by courier, with the delivered price confirmed before you order.

Questions Kingaroy players ask

I only play golf croquet on Tuesdays. Is a good mallet worth it? If you play every week, a mallet fitted to your height makes the game more comfortable and more consistent.

How do I know it will suit me? Add the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee (A$99) and use it at Youngman Street for a month of games.

Will red dust and storms hurt it? No. Wipe the aluminium head and faces clean after play and store it dry.
