Croquet mallets and balls in Kansas City
The short answer: Kansas City players, on either side of the state line, can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls from our online store and have them shipped to the door. For a mostly golf croquet scene that plays through humid summer evenings, we would point most people to the forgiving Invictus Rise.
Croquet in Kansas City
The metro's lawn game is centered on Kactus Creek Croquet Club, in Parkville in the Northland, which a local TV station has called Kansas City's only official USCA club. Its court was built in a backyard over roughly seven years, according to a 2009 Croquet Network post, and is now a licensed recreational facility with Platte County. The one professional-size court can be split into two smaller ones for up to 16 players, with lights for evening play. The season runs from mid-May through October, with open golf croquet on Tuesday nights from 7 to 10 for US$5 a head, and the club says it is home to several regional and USCA national champions. In 2026 a county older-adult program also ran evening croquet outings there from June to September.
What Kansas City's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
Kansas City has hot, humid summers, thunderstorms that can drench a lawn in an hour, and cold winters that end the outdoor season. Dew settles fast on a summer night, so a court under lights slows as the session goes on, while a dry August spell firms it up.
Which Invictus mallet suits Kansas City players
Invictus Rise, US$695. The more popular of our two mallets. An aluminum head of about 3 lb keeps the ball rolling on a damp evening lawn, and the sweet spot runs slightly larger than usual, so the mallet is a little easier to control. Order it with an 11 inch head, which is what we normally recommend.
RF Pro, US$1,295. Created with World Champion Robert Fletcher, our flagship has a 3D printed aluminum head fitted with brass weights and composite faces. It weighs about 2 lb 12 oz, a lighter, very precise choice for players chasing championship form.
Every mallet is cut to your handle length and offered with an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is standard, and any of Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple costs US$119 on top. The mallet fitting guide and compare mallets help you settle the details.
Balls for Kansas City clubs
Invictus X is a 450 g ball, made entirely in Australia and approved by the World Croquet Federation for championship play; US$635 buys a set of four. Most lawns are served by one set of first colors and one of second colors, as a guide. See how to choose croquet balls for a club.
Delivery to Kansas City
Since each mallet is made after you order it, delivery to Kansas City usually takes 4 to 8 weeks from order; please treat that as an estimate. Before you pay for a ball set, we confirm its delivered price.
Questions Kansas City players ask
Is a 3 lb mallet too heavy for golf croquet? Not usually; the weight helps the ball through dewy grass.
Will evening dew damage it? No. The aluminum head is unaffected by moisture; dry the faces after play and follow our product care tips.
What if it is not right for me? With the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee (US$99) you can play your Tuesday games with it before deciding to keep it.
