Croquet mallets and balls in Horsham
The short answer: Horsham players can buy an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls online and have them delivered in the Wimmera. On firm, fast summer courts the lighter RF Pro suits golf croquet players who play for touch, while the Invictus Rise is the steadier all-season choice.
Croquet in Horsham
Horsham Croquet Club plays on William Guilfoyle Drive, between the Botanical Gardens and the lawn tennis club, near the river at the bottom of Firebrace Street. Members keep its four A-grade courts. Golf croquet is the main game: some members play purely for the company, others play pennant or travel to tournaments, and the club wears white and bottle green on competition days. Beginners can borrow a mallet and get coaching from members. In summer the timetable shifts, with Tuesday games moving to a 7pm start from November and Thursday and Saturday play beginning at 9.30am from January to March. Its three-day golf croquet tournament, with a hi-low draw, level singles and handicap doubles, closes out October 2026.
What Horsham's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
The Wimmera is grain country, with hot, dry summers and cold winters that bring frosty mornings. By late summer the lawns are hard and the ball races, so golf croquet turns on touch and on clean, controlled jumps. In winter the grass is slower and damper, and a heavier head earns its place.
Which Invictus mallet suits Horsham players
RF Pro, A$1,980. Our flagship, developed with World Champion Robert Fletcher. The head is 3D printed from aluminium and carries brass weights and composite faces, and the mallet weighs about 2 lb 12 oz. Lighter and very precise, it suits players who mostly compete on summer's fast courts.
Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular mallet, with an aluminium head near 3 lb and a slightly larger sweet spot that makes it a little easier to control. It is the one to choose if you play the whole year, and we usually recommend it with an 11 inch head.
Both mallets are made to order to your handle length, with an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is the standard finish, and NRA Blue, Rose Gold, Snow White or Deep Purple add A$130.90. The fitting guide and the comparison help you decide.
Balls for Horsham clubs
Invictus X balls are World Croquet Federation championship approved, weigh 450 g and are made entirely in Australia, at A$990 per set. For four courts, the usual guide is four first-colour sets and four second-colour sets. Our ball sets for a club page explains the reasoning.

Questions Horsham players ask
Is the RF Pro light enough for golf croquet jumps? Yes; at about 2 lb 12 oz it is the lighter of our two mallets.
Can I play pennant with it before deciding? Yes. With the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee, A$99, you can play with it for a month first.
Will frost or heat damage it? No. Aluminium is unaffected by either; wipe it down after play and see product care.
