Croquet mallets and balls in Hervey Bay and Maryborough

The short answer: Hervey Bay and Maryborough players can order an Invictus mallet made to their own measurements, and both clubs can order Invictus X balls, online for delivery to the Fraser Coast. For most players we suggest starting with the Invictus Rise.

Croquet in Hervey Bay and Maryborough

The Hervey Bay Croquet Club is on Totness Street in Torquay and plays three codes. Ricochet is on Mondays and Saturdays, golf croquet on Tuesdays, and Wednesdays bring all three, ricochet, golf and association, while a Friday social session at 3:30pm mixes every code. Start times shift with the season: an 8am start from November to February, 9am for the rest of the year. Visitors and new players are welcome.

Twenty-five to thirty minutes' drive inland, the Point Lookout Croquet Club in North Street, Maryborough, keeps an early timetable too: golf croquet at 7:30am on Tuesdays and Saturdays, ricochet on Wednesday mornings, association on Tuesday afternoons, and a social game of all codes on Saturday afternoon. Both belong to Croquet Queensland's Wide Bay Burnett region.

What the Fraser Coast's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Hervey Bay looks out across sheltered water towards K'gari, and the Fraser Coast is warm and sunny, with humid, stormy summers and mild, dry winters. After summer rain the grass thickens and slows; in the dry season the lawns firm and run truer. A weighty head helps in the wet months, and a precise one shows its worth in the dry.

Which Invictus mallet suits Fraser Coast players

Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular mallet. An aluminium head of about 3 lb moves the ball through heavier grass, and the slightly enlarged sweet spot makes it a little easier to control. Most choose the 11 inch head.

RF Pro, A$1,980. Our flagship, developed alongside World Champion Robert Fletcher. Composite faces and brass weights sit in a 3D printed aluminium head; at about 2 lb 12 oz it is the lighter, very precise option.

We build each mallet to the handle length you give us, with either an 11 or a 12 inch head. Graphite Black is standard, and Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple cost A$130.90 extra. Weight cannot be chosen. Use the fitting guide and compare mallets before ordering.

Balls for Fraser Coast clubs

Invictus X balls carry World Croquet Federation championship approval, weigh 450 g, are made entirely in Australia and are A$990 a set. As a guide, hold first and second colours for each lawn; our club ball sets guide explains why.

Delivery to Hervey Bay and Maryborough

Because mallets are made to order, expect delivery to the Fraser Coast usually 4 to 8 weeks from ordering, an estimate and not a promise. Balls come by courier, priced in advance.

Questions Fraser Coast players ask

Will one mallet do ricochet, golf and association? Yes. Both models are built for association and golf croquet, and they serve ricochet players well.

Can I test it at my club? Add the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee (A$99) and play your usual sessions in Torquay or North Street with it first.

Does the coastal humidity matter? No. Aluminium heads do not swell or split; see product care.
