Croquet mallets and balls in Fort Wayne
The short answer: Fort Wayne players can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls from our website, and we ship to Indiana. For a brand-new club starting out with golf croquet, the Invictus Rise, our most popular mallet, is the sensible first choice.
Croquet in Fort Wayne
Croquet arrived in Fort Wayne as an organized sport in the summer of 2026. The Fort Wayne Curling Club, founded in 2010 and based on North Wells Street since 2019, built a new bowling green in its rear yard, and two sister clubs now share it: the Fort Wayne Lawn Bowls Club and the Fort Wayne Croquet Club. The green was opened with a ribbon cutting on August 1, 2026, with the USCA among the partners, and introductory croquet sessions began the next day. The croquet club, a USCA member, is starting with golf croquet and plans to add American six-wicket in a later season. From May through October each year it intends to run introductory sessions, drop-in nights, a casual league, senior and adaptive programs and tournaments.
What Fort Wayne's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
Northeast Indiana has cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers with frequent thunderstorms. The May-to-October season opens on cool, sometimes damp grass, peaks in midsummer and closes as nights turn chilly. A new green's pace may change as the turf matures.
Choosing an Invictus mallet in Fort Wayne
Invictus Rise, US$695. Our most popular mallet. Expect roughly three pounds of aluminum in the head and a sweet spot a touch bigger than normal; the result is a mallet that is a little easier to control while you learn golf croquet's jump shots. Our advice is the 11 inch head.
RF Pro, US$1,295. Robert Fletcher, World Champion, helped us develop this flagship. Brass weights and composite faces sit within a head 3D printed from aluminum, and the finished mallet is close to 2 lb 12 oz. Lighter and very precise, it will reward players moving on to six-wicket.
Tell us your handle length and we make the mallet to order, choosing either an 11 inch or a 12 inch head. It comes in Graphite Black unless you pay US$119 for Rose Gold, Snow White, Deep Purple or NRA Blue. Our fitting guide shows how to measure; compare mallets sets out the differences.
Balls for Fort Wayne clubs
Every Invictus X ball weighs 450 g. The World Croquet Federation has approved the balls for championship play, they are made entirely in Australia, and you pay US$635 per set. A starting club should count on two sets per lawn, one in first colors and one in second; our club ball guide explains.
Delivery to Fort Wayne
Your mallet is made individually and reaches Indiana usually 4 to 8 weeks after you order. That timing is our estimate. Ball sets ship after we tell you the delivered price and you agree to it.
Questions Fort Wayne players ask
I have only played backyard croquet. Is the Rise too much mallet? No; its forgiveness is meant for players building a stroke.
Can I play with it before committing? Yes, with the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee for US$99.
Where should it live over winter? Somewhere dry; cold does not harm aluminum. See product care.
