Croquet mallets and balls in Euroa

The short answer: Euroa players can get an Invictus mallet or a set of Invictus X balls by ordering online, with delivery to the Strathbogie Shire. For Wednesday golf croquet and Monday association play, our Rise is the sensible place to begin.

Croquet in Euroa

Euroa Croquet Club was founded in 1906 to play association croquet, and it still does, on Monday mornings. Golf croquet arrived late in the twentieth century and is now the members' favourite, played on Wednesday mornings and at a Friday social evening, while Aussie croquet and gateball come out on special occasions. The club sits behind the Euroa Bowls Club on the corner of Templeton and Turnbull Streets, with two full-size courts that divide into four half courts, a fully accessible clubhouse, a mallet shed and a barbecue area. Newcomers of any age bring nothing: a mallet and a member to teach them are provided. Euroa and Mooroopna contest the Sheep Dip Cup, a silver trophy first donated in 2000 and revived as a golf croquet challenge in 2011.

What Euroa's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Euroa lies at the foot of the Strathbogie Ranges, with hot summers and cold winters. The club moves its Wednesday start to 9am on very warm days, and by January the courts run hard and quick. Winter mornings, by contrast, bring cold, dewy grass that holds the ball back.

Which Invictus mallet suits Euroa players

Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular mallet, and the safe choice if you will only own one. The head is aluminium and weighs in at about 3 lb, and its sweet spot is a touch larger than usual, which makes it a little easier to control on a slow winter lawn. We usually recommend the 11 inch head.

RF Pro, A$1,980. Our flagship came out of work with World Champion Robert Fletcher. The 3D printed aluminium head is balanced with brass weights and finished with composite faces, about 2 lb 12 oz in total, so it is lighter and very precise: well suited to quick summer golf croquet.

Your mallet is built for you: we cut the handle to your measurement and fit an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is the base finish; Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple add A$130.90. See how to measure and the two models compared.

Balls for Euroa clubs

Invictus X weighs 450 g, is made entirely in Australia and is approved by the World Croquet Federation for championship play. At A$990 a set, a two-court club would usually start with two sets in first colours and two in second. Our guide to ball colours explains the pairing.

Delivery to Euroa

Because nothing is made until you order, plan on about 4 to 8 weeks for your mallet to reach Euroa; that is an estimate. Clubs ordering balls can ask us for a quote with delivery.

Questions Euroa players ask

I play golf on Wednesdays and association on Mondays. One mallet? Yes, either Invictus model plays both.

Can I play some club games with it first? Yes: the optional satisfaction guarantee, A$99, gives you 30 days.

Will the mallet shed's cold and damp hurt it? No; aluminium is not troubled by it. Wipe it dry after play and see product care.
