Croquet mallets and balls in Enfield

The short answer: Enfield players can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls online and have them delivered in north London and the Hertfordshire borders. For a club that plays both codes and trains newcomers every spring, the Invictus Rise is the mallet we would put forward first.

Croquet in Enfield

Enfield Croquet Club grew out of a croquet course run by the borough council: those who finished it were offered the chance to form a club, and in 1991 it was established in Bush Hill Park Recreation Ground, entered from Cecil Avenue. It began with two lawns and now has three full-size lawns. Only Association Croquet was played until 2005, when Golf Croquet was introduced to attract new members, with advice from the Watford club; it has been popular ever since. The club competes in the East Anglian Federation and has won the Beds and Herts AC League five times, most recently in 2024, and the GC B-Level League four times between 2018 and 2022. Members help the parks staff care for the lawns under an annual lawn plan. Free training is offered on Tuesday and Saturday mornings from April, with all equipment provided.

What Enfield's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

The club's own history says the quality of its lawns has shaped its membership more than anything else, and members put real work into aeration and mowing. London's warm summers can still leave a park lawn firm and quick by August, while April training mornings often start on damp, slower grass. A mallet that forgives early on and stays precise later suits the year here.

Which Invictus mallet suits Enfield players

Invictus Rise, £525. Our most popular mallet. It has an aluminium head of about 3 lb and a sweet spot slightly larger than normal, so it is a little easier to control while a new stroke settles. Most players should take the 11 inch head, our usual recommendation.

RF Pro, £975. Our flagship, designed alongside World Champion Robert Fletcher. Its 3D printed aluminium head carries brass weights and composite faces, coming to around 2 lb 12 oz; lighter and very precise for league Association players.

Both are made to order to your handle length, with an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is standard; Snow White, Deep Purple, Rose Gold or NRA Blue add £89. Use the fitting guide and compare mallets.

Balls for Enfield clubs

Invictus X has World Croquet Federation championship approval, weighs 450 g and is made entirely in Australia, priced at £479 a set. Three lawns would usually be stocked with six sets, first and second colours for each. See how to choose croquet balls for a club.

Delivery to Enfield

Mallets are made one at a time after ordering and sent to the UK, usually reaching Enfield 4 to 8 weeks from order, as an estimate. For ball sets we confirm the delivered price before payment.

Questions Enfield players ask

I have just finished the spring training. Which mallet? The Rise, for most people; move to the RF Pro when your stroke is consistent.

Can I play league matches with it before keeping it? Yes, with the optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee, which costs £75.

Golf or Association: does it matter? Both mallets work for both; the Rise forgives more, the RF Pro is the lighter, more exact tool.
