Croquet mallets and balls in Dimboola

The short answer: Dimboola players can buy Invictus mallets and Invictus X balls on our website for delivery to the Wimmera. On hot, dry summer courts the lighter RF Pro gives fine control, and the Invictus Rise is the forgiving option for newer players.

Croquet in Dimboola

Dimboola Croquet Club is a young club: it was inaugurated in May 2013 with nine members. It plays golf croquet on two courts in Lloyd Street, behind the tennis courts. Tuesday is the main day, starting at 10am with two games, a break for lunch and then a final game, so players bring their own lunch; in the winter months there is also Saturday play from 1pm to 3pm. The club keeps extra mallets for anyone who wants to try the game, which makes a first visit easy.

What Dimboola's lawns and weather mean for your mallet

Dimboola sits on the Wimmera River at the edge of the Little Desert, and its climate is hot and dry for much of the year. Summer days often reach the mid-30s, the courts bake firm and the ball runs a long way off a soft stroke. Winters are cool, with clear, frosty mornings, and the grass slows.

Which Invictus mallet suits Dimboola players

RF Pro, A$1,980. World Champion Robert Fletcher's input went into our flagship. Its head is formed by 3D printing in aluminium, then fitted with brass weights and composite striking faces; the mallet totals roughly 2 lb 12 oz. Expect a lighter, very precise feel that suits baked summer courts.

Invictus Rise, A$990. Of our two models, this one is the more popular. Near enough 3 lb of aluminium forms the head, a help once winter slows the grass, and because the sweet spot runs slightly bigger than normal, newer players find control a little easier. Our advice is an 11 inch head.

Neither mallet sits on a shelf. Once you order, we build it to your handle length, with the head at 11 inches or 12. Graphite Black is the free finish, while Rose Gold, Snow White, NRA Blue and Deep Purple each carry a A$130.90 charge. The comparison page and fitting guide explain the choice.

Balls for Dimboola clubs

Every Invictus X ball, at 450 g and made entirely in Australia, carries World Croquet Federation approval for championship play. Sets are A$990; a two-court club would typically want two sets in first colours and two in second. See how to choose balls for a club.

Delivery to Dimboola

Your mallet should reach Dimboola some 4 to 8 weeks after you order, a figure we give as an estimate only. Ball sets are quoted to the club with the freight included.

Questions Dimboola players ask

I'm new and use the club's spare mallets. When should I buy? Once you are playing every Tuesday; the Rise is the easy place to start.

Can I play with it before deciding? For A$99 the optional satisfaction guarantee buys you 30 days to decide.

Does Wimmera heat affect the head? No; aluminium is unbothered by heat. Our care notes cover cleaning.
