Croquet mallets and balls in the Czech Republic

The short answer: Czech croquet players, from Prague to Telč and Hořice, can order an Invictus mallet built to their own handle length, and clubs can buy championship balls, with delivery to the Czech Republic. For the soft spring and autumn lawns of central Europe, we would suggest the Invictus Rise first.

Croquet in the Czech Republic

The game is run nationally by the Czech-Moravian Croquet Association. Its president, who has played since 1992, belongs to Croquet Club Dynamo Telč, described in a 2022 player profile as the only Czech club with two full-size lawns. In Hořice, north-east Bohemia, a club founded in 2004 joined the national association in 2008.

Czech players compete abroad too. The country fielded a team at the 2022 Association Croquet World Team Championship, and three young Czechs travelled to Florida for the Under-21 Golf Croquet World Championship in April 2025. In Prague, the riverside leisure centre Žluté lázně hires out croquet by the hour, an easy first taste for newcomers.

What Czech lawns and weather mean for your mallet

The Czech climate is continental: cold winters, often with snow, and warm summers with thunderstorms, so lawn play runs from spring to autumn. Spring and autumn grass is usually lush and slow, asking for a mallet that carries the ball without forcing the swing, while a dry July can firm a court up considerably. Aluminium heads are untroubled by frost over winter.

Which Invictus mallet suits Czech players

Invictus Rise, US$695. Our most popular mallet. Its aluminium head weighs close to 3 lb and has a slightly larger sweet spot, so soft grass is easier to manage. We normally pair it with an 11 inch head.

RF Pro, US$1,295. Our flagship, developed with World Champion Robert Fletcher. A 3D printed aluminium head with brass weights and composite faces brings it to about 2 lb 12 oz: lighter, very precise, and suited to tournament players who prize fine control.

Each mallet is made after you order, to the handle length you specify, with an 11 or 12 inch head. Graphite Black is standard, and Snow White, NRA Blue, Rose Gold or Deep Purple add US$119. Weight cannot be altered. The fitting guide walks you through measuring; compare mallets sets out the differences.

Balls for Czech clubs

Invictus X balls are World Croquet Federation championship approved, weigh 450 g and are made entirely in Australia. One set costs US$635. A sensible guide is a set of first colours plus a set of second colours for every lawn, so Telč's two lawns would call for four. See how many ball sets a club needs.

Delivery to the Czech Republic

Each mallet usually reaches you 4 to 8 weeks after ordering, offered as an estimate only. We quote the delivered price to the Czech Republic before you pay.

Questions Czech players ask

Is a fitted mallet worth it if I mostly play golf croquet? Yes, for regular players. The right length helps consistency in either game.

When is the best time to order? In winter, so it arrives before the spring start.

What if I am not happy with it? The optional 30-day satisfaction guarantee, US$99 at checkout, covers you.
