Croquet mallets and balls in Cowra
The short answer: Cowra players can order an Invictus mallet or Invictus X balls online and have them delivered in the Lachlan Valley. For a club that plays both association and golf croquet, the Invictus Rise is our suggested first mallet, and the RF Pro is there for players who want the lightest, most exact stroke.
Croquet in Cowra
Cowra Croquet Club plays in Brougham Park, on the corner of Brougham and Darling Streets. It calls itself a small, friendly club, and its members play association and golf croquet three days a week. Newcomers need only flat shoes: the club supplies all equipment for a beginner's first six weeks. Twice a year it hosts a Friendship Day, and it sometimes joins with other clubs for combined events. During the 2025 Cowra Seniors Festival it ran two free come-and-try mornings on Wednesdays in March, each finishing with tea or coffee.
What Cowra's lawns and weather mean for your mallet
The Lachlan Valley is farming country in the central west of New South Wales, with hot summers and cold winters. From December to March the grass in Brougham Park can dry and quicken, and golf croquet becomes a matter of soft, measured strokes. Frosty winter mornings bring the opposite: heavy, slow grass that needs a firmer hit and more weight in the head to move the ball the length of the lawn.
Which Invictus mallet suits Cowra players
Invictus Rise, A$990. Our most popular mallet. With about 3 lb in an aluminium head and a sweet spot slightly larger than usual, it is a little easier to control, and it copes well with slow winter grass. We tend to recommend it with an 11 inch head.
RF Pro, A$1,980. Our flagship, which World Champion Robert Fletcher helped develop. The aluminium head is 3D printed and carries brass weights and composite faces; the mallet weighs about 2 lb 12 oz. Lighter and very precise, it rewards association players building breaks on quick summer lawns.
Both are made to order to suit your handle length, with an 11 or 12 inch head. The standard colour is Graphite Black; Deep Purple, Snow White, NRA Blue or Rose Gold cost A$130.90 extra. Start with mallet fitting and compare mallets.
Balls for Cowra clubs
Invictus X balls hold World Croquet Federation championship approval, weigh 450 g and are made entirely in Australia. The price is A$990 a set, and the usual guide is a first-colour set plus a second-colour set for each lawn. Read ball colours explained to see how they pair up.
Delivery to Cowra
We build each mallet after you order; expect it in Cowra around 4 to 8 weeks later, an estimate rather than a guarantee. For ball sets, send us your lawn count for a delivered price.
Questions Cowra players ask
Should I wait until my six weeks with club equipment are up? That is a sensible time to decide. The Rise is the usual first choice.
Can I play with it before committing? Yes, with the free 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
Will frost harm an aluminium head? No. Dry the faces after a cold morning and see product care.
